RAF 208 Squadron Egypt Message Streamer Used Circa 1920’s.
This is a scarce attributed example, the streamer of the regulation pattern, red, yellow and blue material with a canvass bag containing lead weight. The bag stamped with an Arrow and A, indicating War Department Air Branch probably ex RFC stores.
Hand written:
“PLEASE RETURN TO B FLIGHT 208 SQUADRON RAF MOASOAR EGYPT”
Slight wear GC. Length 54 1/2 inches
208 Squadron RAF flew out of RAF Moasoar 1920 to 1922 operating RE8 and Bristol Fighter aircraft. A second posting saw them there from 1923 to 1927 again with the Bristol Fighter.
